About Darlene
Darlene started her career as a dancer and choreograher.
The name After My Heart originates from a Choreographic work created for her dance Company, Dance House.
The name After My Heart just seemed perfect for her a new venture in design and fashion.
Darlene’s background in theatre, led to her passion for design. The theatre is the perfect environment for crystalizing dreams. Creating sets and costumes, allowed her to experiment with colour, fabric and texture.
Learning a new craft in fashion, Darlene; then launched the After My Heart label. Her love of fabrics from patterned velvet through vintage materials to lace, combines with an experimental approach to different techniques from Felting to Appliqué, to create her collections.
Being a small company allows her to make handmade limited-edition designs.
After My Heart….is committed to Up-cycling; finding ways to make wearable, original, individual fashion.
